  1. I see that Intel has realised new Celeron chipsets, and I find this very interesting. Yes it isn’t a I7 however it seems to perform quite well. I will be interested in the differences of battery life with the celeron processor vs the I7.

  2. The processor really isn’t a huge deal for me, because the other specs seem to be on line with a solid mid-range notebook. 4GB of RAM is ample for Youtube, Netflix, and low-end music editing, and expanding to 8GB might be worthwhile. Dedicated video RAM would be nice for gaming (or video editing), but I don’t do much hardcore gaming anyway; it’d be great for Sims 4, say, and that’s about the most RAM the average consumer’s going to do.

I really like the look of this laptop, and the slim profile. Might have to check it out.

    Nice write-up!

  3. For the price, I think the Lenovo G50-30 is a great deal; even with the Intel Celeron processor. It has a decent amount of RAM coupled with ample storage space. The AMD Radeon Graphics card is an added bonus for the buyer. The only people who need a higher processor are animators and hardcore PC games. Since most of us doesn’t fall into either of those categories, this laptop will be a great option.

  4. For office/general work his laptop is more than enough. I had a laptop with a similar CPU and gotta say it’s good even for light gaming, and Celeron’s are known for being very conservative on battery usage. RAM modules for laptops are nowhere near expensive as they used to be so it’ll be pretty easy and inexpensive to upgrade to 8GB if you need to.

  5. This review lost all credibility at the point where it stated that: “This processor runs at 5400RPM …”

Hey thanks for the catch! That was definitely a typo as it was referencing the hard drive speed – I’ve fixed it now.

  6. I promise you that once you have tried the accessories you are not going to believe what you were missing all this time.
